Panoramic Field with Clouds in Punta Indio, originally uploaded by Gabriel Robledo.

This is my first panoramic image with the new camera. I though this would be difficult to achieve because in my Canon XTi there is no functionality to help you create a panorama like in a point-and-shot like the A720. So with this image I just simply took a few shots and then stitched them together, as simple as that.

The photo: if remember well, my girl and me were searching for some place to eat at Punta Indio, not an easy task as you may notice in the picture. Almost the entire place is like you see here, dirt roads, a few houses and lots of grass. There are places where there is more vegetation, but in this block all we could see was grass and clouds. And those clouds really caught my attention.

I jumped out of the car and then shoot a 360 degree set of the entire place. I chose only this part of the entire 360 image because it is where the clouds are and they are also just on top of that little house in the middle of nowhere.

As you can see, the house is perfectly aligned with the biggest cloud… amazing. I’m very happy with the results!

More photos taken in this wonderful place here and here.

We finally couldn’t find any place to eat so we ended buying pasta to cook in our cabin.

Cheers!

Daisies in Punta Indio

From the trip to Punta Indio I have a great and abundant material. Going out of town to a place where asphalt doesn’t even exist, neither supermarkets, thousands of people and animals like Goats with fringe and cows, inspired me a lot. Maybe is the fact that living in the city, if you travel outside of it, even a chicken looks amazing because is something you don’t see every day.

In the city, Buenos Aires, you can only see lots of pigeons in Plaza de Mayo and abandoned dogs, nothing else. And as this is something I see every day, it doesn’t catch my attention and some times this is annoying, specially when pigeons get your car dirty :D.

The photo: here you have my first photo of some Daisies. This time I took lots of photos and from different angles. From all of them, obviously this is the one that I liked the most because there is only one daisy in focus and there are more daisies out of focus in front and in the background of the subject.

Back into the citi and watching the photos of this short holidays, week seems to be longer… maybe it’s because i got used to sleep and do nothing all the weekend :D

Cheers!

Goat with Fringe in Punta Indio, originally uploaded by Gabriel Robledo.

This weekend with my girlfriend we decided to take a break from the Buenos Aires Capital and go to relax somewhere. The orders were simple: spend little money, travel just a few kilometers and spend at least over a day outside the city.

Thanks to the internet and to my girl who found the place, the chosen destination was Punta Indio (Indian point in English). This town is about 150 kilometers from the Buenos Aires Capital and you get here by a dirt road.

Punta Indio es a VERY quiet place, ideal to go and rest and do nothing at all. We found that only 500 inhabitants live here, so you can image how peaceful this place is. Shops are few, only 2 o 3 for buying food, a few for eating and some cabins to spend the night, everything is very simple and homemade.

We were surprised by the fact that the owner’s family of the cabins where we stayed and also a family that was selling handcrafts, were from the Capital city. Both families came to this town seeking peace and quietness, and also security, things that are hard to find in the Capital. In our stay we realized that they were right, the place is really pacific and really secure, besides, everybody knows each other.

The photo: as you can see, it’s clearly a goat. This animal was tied to the ground just a few meters from the road. When I saw it from the car, I didn’t hesitate a moment and went down the vehicle to take a few shots. Surprisingly, the photo that I liked the most was one of the latest. In this photo the goat just looked straight at me like asking for food. Sadly I hadn’t had anything to give him, not even a cookie, and I didn’t want to stroke him either, those horns didn’t look friendly.

From now on I will be uploading more photos of Punta Indio, besides my other photographs. This wonderful place is great to spend a weekend outside the chaos of the city and also to be near a simpler life, living in a small town. Me and my girlfriend had a great time there and we accomplished our mission: rest!

Cheers!

Intense Concentration, originally uploaded by Gabriel Robledo.

Well, this is my first post for the English version blog. I wanted to start this one with what I think I’ve learned to do well: a photograph.

I will do my best to keep both blogs updated and to have the same content on both. Then I will see what happens. I will also try to begin translating my other post. If you still want to see the Spanish version of the blog, just go here.

Going back to the picture, this was a street artist, performing some kind of statue act in one of the most popular streets in the capital city of Buenos Aires: Florida street.

As I work near Florida street, I decided to take my camera one day at the office and in my lunch break, go to have a walk at this street. Just to clarify, this is not a street where cars can go, it’s only for people, closed to transit and full of shops.

While I was walking, I saw a little crowd of people and then decided to go to see what it was. When I see her, I didn’t hesiate and took a few pictures. The one posted here is my second best. The best of the series for me can be seen here.

Cheers!

Gabriel
